Made in china
Truckin’ - got my chips cashed in
Keep Truckin - like the doodah man
Together - more or less in line
Just keep Truckin on
Yeah…So have you ever gone on a road trip, cruising down the highway staring at one truck after another? Just as one truck goes by and the next one appears and an obvious thought emerges—just what in the world are all of these trucks hauling? Of course anyone would know that trucks haul goods, but where do all these goods come from? Duh, all the goods come from China. It is kind a getting creepy to know that practically everything we buy in America is made in China. Children in this country must think that China is a country that is just covered with enormous warehouses and factories. I mean I bet kids in the U.S. think that the Great Wall of China is one of the seven largest assembly lines in the world instead of one of the seven wonders of the world. Last summer I was working in retail and found that roughly ninety percent of the goods that I came across were made in china. Not only were ninety percent of the goods made in china, but these goods were shipped to Cali, hauled to Las Vegas warehouses, and finally hauled across the nation. Sometimes, I’m even fooled to believe that China is just one gigantic warehouse and nothing more. But that just can’t be true. I would like to take a road trip across China and get a closer look at where the goods I purchase come from. Of course I would have drive the most decked out PeterBilt big rig that the United States has got to offer and just keep trucking on…
Ahhh I fried my Hair
So I fried my hair by using a clothes iron everyday to straighten it. I know it seems a bit absurd to use a clothes iron to straighten my hair when my hair is naturally straight. But it really gives it this sleek look that I desire in minutes. My scalp is really sensitive to chemicals so I can’t use hair products for the shine I want.
Luckily I didn’t fry all of my hair. I only really fried one portion, but it is right in the front and totally visible. So I bought some hair straightening stuff that made my entire apartment smell like a salon and it didn’t work. Anyway I guess my days with the clothes iron are over. I will actually have to buy a real flat iron for hair only. I found this cool one at walmart that is super wide. Hopefully it will do the job. Nayema and Raisa I know you are laughing at me…
from this day forward until death do us part
According to the way famous psychologist Erik Erickson, all young adults reach a conflict called Intimacy vs. Isolation. In this stage of life if one is not able to seek out a companion/partner he or she will suffer from feelings of isolation. I certainly cannot believe in everything I read about theories concerning psychosocial developmental trends, but I agree with Eric Erickson on his eight stages of psychosocial development. Well I am a young adult and it just so happens that I meet a wonderful individual who I have known for quite some time now. His name is Chris and I have some pictures of him in my photo gallery. Anyway he proposed to me several months ago and we are going to marry in December. OMG I am getting married!!! But surely enough I am ready for it. According to Erickson I have two more stages to go: Generitivity vs. Stagnation (middle adulthood) and Ego Integrity vs. Despair (late adulthood). Luckily, I will get to spend the last two stages of my life with Chris.
Black Gold
Our nation is at war, but really it isn’t something that burdens my soul with fear or frustration or whatever emotions that might be associated with war. But here I am typing away on my windows machine about a war being fought for oil. Gaining more access to oil is a legitimate reason to send a nation to war. Any nation with an extravagant amount of wealth has access to a lot of oil. It is reasonable to say that the US government just wants to secure their access to the third largest oil reserve in the world. Thus the war in Iraq should be a huge concern for all Americans, but it doesn’t seem like many Americans even care. Anyway since it is Memorial Day I would like to thank all the men and women who help preserve this nation’s wealth.
It’s like that
So Mariah Carey finally released a new album. What a relief. It may sound strange but I am a huge fan of Mariah. She is by far the best female vocalist of all time. Just because she dresses like the biggest slut on this side of the western hemisphere doesnt change the fact that she is an extremely talented individual. The Emancipation of Mimi is her latest album and I must add that this is her most original work so far. It is so funk and soul inspired that I could have very well believed that it was produced in the seventies. Anyway it is an album worth buying. There are more than 5 quality tracks. The lovely Puerto Rican diva, Jennifer Lopez, has barely three tracks on her new album Rebirth that are worth noting. Anaheims leading lady, Gwen Stefani, finally released her very own album tilted Love, Angle, Music, Baby (LAMB), which from an anthropological perspective is by far the most verifiable empirical evidence that the Japanese are completely westernized and may have even went beyond with their out of this world eccentric and bizarre street fashion. Anyway, LAMB is an amazing album that contains more than 5 quality tracks as well. However, the album may only serve to educate you on the hottest designers including herself, instead of actually entertaining you.
A victim to spam
Ahh my blog is being spammed. However, you might find some interesting stuff among the spam. Anyway, I haven’t written in forever. I didn’t realize that people actually come here to see what I have to say. I promise I will write more.
Finals are coming up again and I’m getting stressed out. I got a massage yesterday and it was very relaxing. Though, I must add that I felt bad for the person who was giving me the massage. I mean in general, people who have to massage all day must have sore hands. But then again everyone is both agents and victims. Like massage therapist are victims because they have sore hands, but agents because they make lots of dough just because they touch people in the right way. That was random. Next time you feel like a victim think of all the reasons why you are an agent. That should make you feel better.
You know I have never watched that show desperate housewives but it seems to be gaining lots of popularity among certain social circles. It seems strange how women are still housewives. Why be a housewife? I mastered all the skills that a housewife needs within a year and I am not even married. Basically, it is damn easy to be a housewife. We just need to get rid of the word altogether. Running an efficient home is easy even if you are relatively intelligent. I know that biologically woman have the required mental faculties and secondary sex organs to be the ideal caretakers of this species, but that doesn’t mean that we have to be stuck at home all day doing mindlessly tedious and boring tasks. No wonder why they are desperate. I would say a housewife is more of a victim then an agent of society.
Amelie
A french movie about an introverted woman who seeks to do good for others. She finds her true love along the way. Love is truly the best reward for good deeds. It is good to be mysterious sometimes. Time will yield all there is to offer when you boost your creativity. So simple, but so true.
Snow and mountains
It’s the time of the year when the snow covers the mountains. I took a ride up there today.
